Apparently, according to the UK’s chain store Tesco, our pets are not worthy of quality meat products, but instead *condemed* unsafe chicken considered a risk for humans to consume!
“Breaded chicken steaks and nuggets sold across Britain may have been made from condemned meat destined for pet food, watchdogs warned last night…..The makers, Perkins Frozen Foods have started to recall 15 tons of the products…..The involvement of a leading manufacturer and retailers suggests the inquiry is the biggest food fraud case in UK history. It raises questions about checks in the food chain to ensure that only items fit for human consumption reach shops…..The alert relates to allegations of chicken unfit for human consumption being recycled back into the system, generating huge profits for those involved…..Undercover video footage taken at Denby, which has since been shut down, revealed piles of dead chickens left on the floor of a vast open shed and men chopping up carcasses in filthy conditions..
According to the Daily Mail, this safe unsafe chicken was to be used in pet food the chain store sells. Such a shame, it seems as though some place the value of over pets at next to nothing. Here at The Honest Kitchen we develop and produce our diets with uncompromising quality with no expense spared in using superior ingredients, making them 100% safe for human consumption! So, if you the urge while your doggy is chowing down, eat away! With a little salt, it’s actually quite good.
And, just in case any of you happen to frequent Tescos (all our UK readers out there?), be warned!
