I’m not an animal communicator by any means, but I swear that sometimes I can read my dog’s mind. Last weekend I was out enjoying the San Diego sun and an amazing cup of gelato when I realized that my dog was giving me “the look.” You know exactly what I’m talking about, too. With that one look, he was able to communicate to me his displeasure with me for eating such a yummy, frosty treat in front of him. Wait, wait… don’t feel too bad for him. I should have mentioned that he was gnawing on a marrow bone and teetering on the point of being completely marrow drunk. I didn’t give in and share the gelato, but I did walk to my freezer and pull out a frozen Ice Pup for my buddy. He’s crazy for them, but I like to make little additions to give him some variety. Here is what we’ve come up with so far:
Yogurt Pups: Throw in a little yogurt at the bottom of each ice cube slot and pour the Ice Pups mixture over it. You’ll end up with a frozen mini-parfait that gives a little dose of a probiotic, too.
Blueberry Surprise: Throw in some blueberries… they’re full of antioxidants and taste yummy.
Detox Pups: Make a tea out of sparkle and hydrate the Ice Pups mixture with it
Chill Pups: Brew up some Chamomile tea and use that to hydrate the mixture
Play around with stuff you have in your house (remember: no raisins, grapes, chocolate, etc.). Let us know if you come up with something cool!
