The term “Cat Lady” takes on a whole new meaning for Bobbette Carlson. Not content at being called just the cat Lady, but rather the “crazy” cat lady, Bobbette has over 32 cats, down from a hefty 46 at one point. She rescues cats from local animals shelters in Rexburg, Idaho that would otherwise be euthanized, and houses them until they can be adopted. Since her quest at cat sainthood began, Bobbette has found homes for more than 1500 cats. All her cats are spayed, neutered and vaccinated appropriately.
“I had a lady drive 600 miles to get one of my cats and turn around and drive back. It’s one of the most rewarding things anyone would ever want to try. The love of these animals is just indescribable,” said Carslon. She’s a one woman cat shelter, and the cat world certainly benefits from her generosity. We could use a few more of her out there!!
