Your son has just been given orders to Iraq for an 8 month tour of duty. He has two dogs so you agree to take care of the rascals while he’s serving overseas. Fair enough right? Apparently not, according to Cumberland County, NC officials. Henry Carrol was recently cited by the county for having 5 dogs (3 of his own, 2 his son’s) and was instructed to remove two immediately.
Carroll attempted to explain his situation but was ignored and took his fight to city officials at a public hearing last night. Their bluff was called and the matter was deferred until the city attorney could “understand” the situation further! The city has had a three dog per household limit on the books since 1972 because 4 dogs is just too much right?!
If a dog is taken care, given proper nutrition, exercise, and love, why should he not be able to live in a home with 4 other dogs instead of 4×4 shelter block in a cold shelter? I’d have 30 Miniature Pinschers if I could. Ok, maybe just like 4, but more than three!
What do you think?
