This past Friday was such a beautiful day that fellow co-worker Raquel and I decided to pack up the crew (Mosi, Willow, Charlie, Makai, Coco and Kylie) and head down to dogs beach. Six of them and two of us was going to make for an interesting adventure.
We pulled the car up to the side of the office, opened up the back and in a seconds we had all six dogs in the back. I knew from their excitement that this was going to be a fun day at the beach. I’ve never had so many dogs in the car and they were all crazy except Coco our resident schnauzer. She managed to curl her self up on the back seat awaiting our destination. I wish I could of said the same for some of the other’s. We had dogs flying over the seats, jumping into laps and enough drool to fill a swimming pool.
Once we finally found a parking spot the real fun began. Raquel opened the back and all we saw was six heads wondering if they were going to be the first one out. It was pure craziness. We managed to get them on their leash and started for the sand. Half way to the water I gave up. The sand was so hot and the dogs where going to give me a free ride through the sand so I had to let them go. All I saw after that was fur flying. I couldn’t even make them out they became a streaking blur racing for the water. It was a race and the finish line was a cool and refreshing dip in the water.
The next couple of hours was a blast. We all ran through the water, played in the sand and enjoyed the beautiful sunny San Diego day! It was just what we all needed.

The Barking Lot is a local animal rescue here in San Diego that is operated by a fellow animal lover Stacy. She started this small organization a few years ago with fostering a dog named Patti Cake, which lives with her still to this day.
Stacy recently came to our rescue when we found a cute but scraggly dog wondering the streets of Downtown San Diego. He was running through the trolley station scared and confused. Luckily we were able to get a hold of him and brought him back to our office. The poor guy was covered in urine and had bubble gum stuck in his fur. Instantly we knew he needed a bath or two. So we lathered him up, fed him and he fit right into the pack. I have to admit that I got attached to him. He is so sweet and loving and I know will make some human very happy.
The unfortunate part of it was that none of us were able to bring him home. But thanks to Stacy and The Barking Lot, Trolley, (that’s what we named him) will be given a great opportunity to find a loving family that will treat him with all the love and respect that he deserves.
Small organizations like The Barking Lot depend on donations so they can help these animals find homes. They do wonders for them like spaying or neutering, vaccines, feeding and fostering them till they are adopted. It’s a lot of work and takes a lot of dedication. Looking out from my desk area
The desk on the right is mine…of course I was disappointed I didn’t get a window, but who am I to complain, I love my spot! Lucy & I (we share this wing of the office) have decided to go for a southwestern theme. I already have a few baby cactus on my desk, which are awesome!! Only problem is the big dogs try to sniff them and it wont be pretty when one gets a face full of those annoying little invisible thorn things. I’ve been perusing the West Elm, Pottery Barn & Target websites for more southern style accent pieces…on my breaks of course…
Lucy & I are certain we’ll have the creme de la creme of office space come a few weeks. No one else has the impeccable interior design skills we posses! Right Lucy?!
